CelebCrcle:
Welcome, Mr. Brown!
CelebCrcle:
The first question is from E2Danzige.
Question
(E2Danzige): Clancy, any word on Earth 2
being renewed for a second season?
CbrownLive:
Not yet. I understand that this weekend
is when the ultimate decision is being made.
Warren Littlefield and Don Ohlmeyer are
going online Monday with the announcement
Question
(CrisKatt): Clancy, recently you've been
popping up all over NY, do you have any
more appearances planned? If so, when and
where do we tune in? Thanks, Cris.
CbrownLive:
Well tonight I lost my talk-show virginity
on the Jon Stewart Show. But that's it for
now.
Question
(MaryAnnMc): I absolutely *love* Earth 2
and hope it and Danziger will be around
for years to come. But if it ends, what
sort of plans do you have for what to do
next?
CbrownLive:
Well first things first. I also hope it
is renewed so I don't have to think about
the second part of your question. Glad your
here MaryAnn. Good to see you.
Question
(Willow 01): You showed very good form with
your weapon in Highlander. Do you practice
any martial arts or swordfighting? Or did
it just come naturally?
CbrownLive:
No I am not a practicing martial artist.
But I did make a good life-long friend in
Bob Anderson, the Sword-master for HIGHLANDER
as well as the Star Wars Trilogy and several
other movies.
Question
(Willow 01): It's pretty obvious that you
enjoy playing the bad guy. But you seem
like a very good man. Is there a reason
that you so enjoy pretending to be bad?
CbrownLive:
Willow - Willow - what are you driving
at my dear. I will do the best part available
in the best script available. Thanks for
the implication of motivations more dark
and sub-conscious.
Question
(Doko desk): So.... is there going to be
an Earth 3 in the making??
CbrownLive:
I am afraid I don't know what you mean.
If there is a second season, the show will
still be called EARTH 2. If there is ever
some called EARTH 3, I am sure it will not
include a "John Danziger".
Question
(CrisKatt): Clancy, do you think the online
campaign to save Earth2 has had any impact
so far, and if not, do you think it will?
CbrownLive:
Yes absolutely without a doubt. The real
measure of that was PeeBeeOne's invitation
for ideas about the direction of the second
season. I've never seen anything like that
before. I am sure there was some deep network
strategy about the invitation, but it should
be considered a good sign on many levels.
Question
(McCoy26): What movies have you been in????
CbrownLive:
Oh a bunch. Ask some one in your row
for a few. Or maybe someone who knows could
IM McCoy26 with a few. I know there is a
list somewhere on the internet.
Question
(Cuyahoga): Mr. Brown, besides from having
a steady pay check what attracted you to
your role on Earth 2?
CbrownLive:
I like sci-fi. Hate what tends to be
the TV sci-fi formula. E2 defies the standard
TV sci-fi paradigm. I'm not knocking B5
or X-files or STING. They work well. But
I did not want to be in a show that was
an imitation. I love the originality of
E2 on almost every level. Sure there are
some derivative elements but on the whole
there is no show like it on the air now
nor has there been in the past.
Question
(ChristyL2): What sort of things would you
like to see happen on Planet G889 in the
second season?
CbrownLive:
I would like to see more political conflicts
within our group. Also I want to see more
stories that are allegorical to the history
of the settling of this continent. You know
- In 1782 a treaty was signed prohibiting
white habitation in the Sacred hunting ground
of Can-Tukee. Maybe in 2215 a treaty could
be signed protecting the Sunstone veins
from human use.
Question
(ChristyL2): If you couldn't have been an
actor, what would you have become?
CbrownLive:
In this order - a fireman; an aristocrat;
an archeologist/anthropologist; and finally
a . . . scubadiver. Oh yeah . . . a circus
acrobat, that would be cool.
Question
(Sunsenemy): I love the show and you're
a great actor. The landscapes are beautiful.
Where do you film?
CbrownLive:
Thank you - yes they are spectacular
- New Mexico.
Question
(ChristyL2): Who has inspired you the most
in your career?
CbrownLive: Well my hero of life is my dad.
There are many actors I admire. Many performances
I am in awe of. But I would have to say
the single most significant influence in
my pursuing this discipline was my next
door neighbor who turned me on to Shakespeare
at a very young age.
Question
(Brookside): Hi, how do you face pressure?
CbrownLive:
Full front. On my feet. With a smile on
face.
Question
(JakBurtn): Clancy, how did you enjoy your
stay at Actors Theater of Louisville?
CbrownLive:
Loved it. Who are you? Do I know you from
there?
Question
(Doko desk): Do you get stopped at airports
or around town for autographs yet? In other
words, has the endless interviews and long
hours waiting, hoping and sweating finally
paid off for your career?
CbrownLive:
I try not to wait around for anything. I
try not to hope for something I have no
control over. Since I have been married
I try to limit perspiration to the gym.
I consider my career very satisfying and
complete. Being stopped in airports is nice
but it doesn't make me a better actor. That
is all I really want to do. Continue to
grow as an Artist. That and to buy the Cincinnati
Reds away from Marge Schott!
Question
(Kivrin18): Hi! I love Earth 2. When is
the season finale?
CbrownLive:
I think a week from Sunday. But not
even I can be sure when they are going to
air this show from week to week. It has
been a very confusing and frustrating year
when it has come to scheduling.
Question
(MAO369): Do you have any projects lined
up for this hiatus from Earth 2?
CbrownLive:
None that I would be confident talking
about. There are a few things I'd like to
do, but I have to wait until next week before
I can commit to anything.
Question
(Wowsah): Hey Mr. Brown, did you go to the
Oscars for Shawshank? What did you wear?
CbrownLive:
No I didn't go. I was in New Mexico.
And was wearing "John Danziger" clothes.
Worked that whole evening.
Question
(Sunrunner): How long does it normally take
to finish production of one episode of Earth2?
CbrownLive:
7 days is what the studio budgeted and
demanded. We only managed that schedule
twice in 20 episodes. It was unrealistic.
I would say we averaged about eight and
a half to nine days of photography per show.
Question
(JULIEALYN): I heard there will be a sequel
to Blue Steel. Are you or Jamie Lee going
to be in it?
CbrownLive:
I haven't heard anything about that. If
it is true, you could probably take Jamie's
participation to the bank. I would be interested
in reading the script.
Question
(MaryAnnMc): Any chance of your doing a
romantic lead in an upcoming movie? I think
that would be great!
CbrownLive:
I couldn't say MaryAnn. I would if I
could, but I can't.
Question
(LisaYV): Which was your favorite role?
CbrownLive:
I like 'em all for their own reasons. In
this order . . . Danziger . . . because
I just did it. Victor in The Bride. Captain
Hadley in Shawshank . . . it's the best
movie I've had the pleasure of participating
in. Kurgan in Highlander; Jimmy in Look
Back In Anger and Hamm in Endgame in college.
CelebCrcle: Thanks so much for joining us
tonight, Mr. Brown! Best of luck to you!
CbrownLive:
It has been my pleasure and privilege.
OnlineHost: Our thanks to Clancy Brown for
stopping by the Oldsmobile Celebrity Circle.
