Breaking News, and some SpongeBob.
Friday, June 29

On June 19, the LA Times published an article about the situation with TNT and Breaking News, giving some good insight and answering a few of our questions. The article can be found here.

Last but not least, everyone's favorite sponge now has toys availiable at Burger King. Unfortunatly, there isn't one for Mr. Krabs, but they're still pretty darn fun. BK has a SpongeBob SquarePants site set up with some goodies for the kids there. I've also spotted SpongeBob plush toys and keychains and Blockbuster video stores.

And don't forget, all of our subscribers will get an autographed Danziger photo as part of this year's CBFC membership packet. The CBFC newsletter subscription information can be found here.

Breaking News - Cancelled?!
Tuesday, May 23

Word came on the BN discussion list that Zap2It had posted the following blurb about how TNT had cancelled the series:
In other news, TNT has axed "Breaking News" before the show ever debuted on the air, saying it preferred to allocate its marketing resources elsewhere. The series, starring Tim Matheson and Scott Bairstow ("Harsh Realm"), was scheduled to premiere next month. Thirteen episodes of the series about a 24-hour news network have already been shot. It's unclear whether the series will find a home elsewhere. Produced by Ken Olin ("Thirtysomething") and Garner Stern ("Chicago Hope"), the show followed news reporters at a 24-hour network.
Yes, thats right... They filmed 13 episodes and are not planning to show any. Doesn't make much sense, does it? Well, we have not heard yet if there is a possibility that the show could be shopped around to other networks, but I'm hoping so! Otherwise, we might never get to see this great series.

The Laramie Project
Tuesday, May 8

Clancy is currently filming a movie for HBO in Laramie, Wyoming. "The Laramie Project" is based on a off-broadway play which was written by Moises Kaufman. Along with other members of the acting company, Kaufman traveled to Laramie in November 1998, just one month after the death of Matthew Shepard. Over the next year they conducted over 200 interviews with the people of Laramie about the crime and town, and incorporated this material into the story of the play.
The play closed last September, but it's film adaptation by HBO will be directed by Moises Kaufman. There is somewhat of an official site at thelaramieproject.com, which gives a little more info about the background of the play.
Clancy's chracter is Sgt. Rob Dubree of the Albany County Sherriff's Department, the real-life officer who conducted the investigation into Matthew Shepard's murder. There will be cameos by many well-known names, such as: Peter Fonda, Steve Buscemi, Amy Madigan, Christina Ricci, Terry Kinney and others.

Snow White images
Saturday, April 21

Hallmark Entertainment's Snow White page was updated with photos from the upcoming mini-series. Unfortunatly, there aren't any of Clancy's character, the Green-Eyed One, but they are still fun to see nonetheless! Also on that page is information about the cast and a synopsis of the plot.

Upcoming Animated Series
Wednesday, April 11

We ran across this page with information about an upcoming animated series called "Xeronine." There is a link to a photo on that site that has Clancy in it.

Buckaroo is Back
Monday, February 12

The quirky 1984 movie, The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai: Across the 8th Dimension, was re-released onto video last week. In the film, Clancy plays the character of Rawhide, one of Buckaroo's closest companions. You can get more info about the video at Amazon.
The DVD is scheduled for release later this year. The word is that it has been pushed back so that additions can be made to the DVD to make it one the fans will be happy with. An article about the movie and future DVD release can be found here.
